As explained on: https://www.emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy/ Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is "EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes, showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences...".

Trauma counseling can help you work through the lasting effects of difficult or painful experiences. I use evidence-based approaches — particularly EMDR therapy — to support healing from the psychological impact of trauma, including symptoms related to PTSD, anxiety, depression, and more.
Research also shows that addressing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) in therapy can significantly reduce the pull of addiction and other harmful coping strategies (see study). I'm passionate about helping clients explore and heal the deep-rooted emotional pain that may still be influencing their present-day struggles.
At Healing Pains Therapy, I offer a compassionate and structured space where we can work together to resolve trauma and create meaningful change.

Anger management counseling services can help you learn to manage and express anger in healthier, more constructive ways. As a licensed therapist, I offer guidance and support to help you identify the root causes of your anger, develop effective coping skills, and strengthen your relationships with others.

Addiction therapy can lead to meaningful milestones, depending on where you are in life and your ability to work through challenges. As we navigate therapy together, you may find yourself progressing through the stages of change — from contemplating the need for change to actively maintaining long-term recovery.
My approach recognizes that even in recovery, especially for those with a trauma background, the roots of addiction can remain. These unresolved issues may resurface in other forms such as eating disorders, tobacco or cannabis use, or even suicidal or self-harming behaviors — even when the original addiction has been addressed.
Our work together isn’t just about breaking free from the presenting addiction or impulsive behavior. It’s about identifying and healing the underlying trauma and emotional pain that fuel these patterns, so new vices don’t emerge in their place.
If you're ready to put in the time and effort, I’m here to help you begin a deeper journey — one that fosters lasting recovery, a renewed sense of hope, and a more empowered way of living.

Some forms of chronic pain may have psychological or emotional origins rather than structural or medical ones — often referred to as psychophysiological or mind-body pain. These symptoms can feel very real and debilitating, even when medical tests do not reveal a clear physical cause.
I do not diagnose medical conditions, but I work from a trauma-informed perspective to help individuals explore the potential emotional and psychological contributors to their physical symptoms — especially when pain seems to improve during times of emotional relief (such as on vacation) or when traditional treatments haven’t been effective.
This is an area I am continuing to explore and seek training in, and I welcome clients who may be interested in approaching their pain from this angle. If you’ve been struggling with unexplained physical symptoms and feel open to the possibility of a mind-body connection, we can gently begin to explore this in therapy together.
I have been influenced by the work of Dr. Howard Schubiner and others in the field of psychophysiologic pain, which guides my interest in helping clients explore this emerging and promising area of mind-body healing.
